The woodworking example is showing the configuration of a cabinet. Even we do not know how it is build it seems to work together with iLogic.

RC1 of confidity for Autodesk Inventor Web configurator released

Today DigiPara released the first version of the web configurator as RC1 (Release Canditate 1). Existing clients can contact their reseller to get this first version for testing.

The web configurator comes with a modern and state-of-the-art user interface. The ribbon like toolbar at the top gives users of the website the impression of a fresh and modern solution.

Performance:
A very important requirement was, that the drawing generation takes less than 30 seconds, at least for a simple part. This requirementis kept. On my machine the drawing is generated in approximately 20 seconds.

Results:
In Mozilla the drawing result window opens in a second tab. In Internet Explorer a new browser is started.

It opens with 4 Tabs:
PDF:
Displays a 3D view of the product in a PDF file.

DWF:
Shows the DWF using the Autodesk Design Review control.

DWG FreeWheel:
Shows the DWF using Autodesk FreeWheel technology. This is an interesting option, since the displayed image is generated on teh Autodesk Freewheel server, the client does not need any plugin or other installation. This should also allow to display the drawing on a smartphon or iPad, etc.
Unfortunately sometime my bowser did not show a result. Digipara support told me that they are working on that issue.

Download:
Allows to download the different results. Also it is possible to download the customized Inventro files for reuse in the own CAD system. Some client may not want that; DigiPara told me that an option allows to disable this option. Alternatively you can provide a SAT download, without any part intelligence.

Release plan: The web version will be released this summer.
